Salad

A tossed salad, also known as a garden salad, is mostly made up of raw vegetables. Croutons and salad dressing are two non-vegetable components that may or may not be used. The dish is typically served cold and eaten before the main entrée. It can be substituted for an entree in some instances. Salad consisting of raw green leafy vegetables (such as lettuce) mixed with other vegetables (such as tomato and cucumber) and served with a dressing.
